THE BLUE RIDGE TREK
As I said on the last page, Grandfather Mountain was closed because of high winds, so we went to Linville Falls, N.C. and climbed up to see the falls.  There was several rest stops along the way and some more on the way back down.  A good walk never the less.  Not many people were taking the stroll up the hill side, but the ones who were seemed to be enjoying the hike.  Several dogs were accompanied by their guardians and appeared to be enjoying the open air, as they exercised their right of tree tagging.
A fellow on the overlook volunteered to take a picture of Louise and me with the waterfall as a backdrop.  Nice fellow.  I probably could have used Adobe to fix some problems with this pic, but what the heck.
A well worn path leads through the woods and up the hillside ending at the overlook above.  The path on the left is water worn and obviously steeper than the lower one on the right.  Rocks and tree roots on the upper portion of the path offer excellent obstacles for tripping.  Anyway, it was a cool, crisp day, just right for hiking up the mountainside.
